Terms and Conditions
GU Services (a trading name of Pro Leak Detection Ltd.)

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between GU Services, a trading name of Pro Leak Detection Ltd. (“the Company”), and any customer (“the Client”) engaging the Company for the provision of plumbing, heating, electrical, and air conditioning services. These Terms apply to all estimates, agreements, and work whether verbal or written, unless otherwise explicitly agreed.
2. Estimates and Quotations
- All estimates issued by the Company are based on the information provided by the Client and/or a preliminary assessment of the work required. Estimates are indicative only and are not binding quotations.
- Should the scope of work change upon commencement—due to unforeseen conditions, additional findings, or changes requested by the Client—the Company reserves the right to amend the estimate and invoice accordingly.
- Costs for materials, labour, equipment hire, and disposal fees are included where specified. Any extra costs incurred due to the discovery of additional issues, or the requirement for specialist parts or services, will be communicated to the Client as soon as practicable.
- While the Company will endeavour to be as accurate as possible, all estimates are subject to market fluctuations in material costs and labour rates, and may be revised without notice prior to acceptance of the estimate by the Client.
- Unless otherwise stated, estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
3. Service Provision
- The Company agrees to perform all works in a professional and competent manner, complying with all applicable health and safety regulations, industry standards, and relevant legal requirements.
- All personnel provided will be properly qualified, insured, and appropriately supervised where necessary.
- The Company may utilise subcontractors for certain specialist tasks. All subcontractors are required to uphold the same standards as GU Services staff.
- Completion timelines are estimates and may vary due to unforeseen circumstances including weather, supply chain disruption, or discovery of additional faults.
4. Call-Out Charges and Cancellations
- The Company may charge a call-out fee for site visits or assessments, the amount of which will be communicated in advance or at the time of booking.
- If a Client cancels a booking with less than 24 hours’ notice, the Company reserves the right to apply a cancellation fee or a charge equivalent to the call-out fee, whichever is greater.
- For bookings scheduled as a full day’s work, cancellations within 48 hours may incur a fee up to 50% of the estimated labour costs. Cancellations on the day of service may be charged at 100% of the estimated labour or call-out charge, at the Company’s discretion.
- Repeated cancellations or rescheduling by the Client may result in the Company declining to accept future bookings.
- If the Company is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment, all reasonable efforts will be made to notify the Client as soon as possible and to agree a mutually convenient alternative time.
All invoices must be settled in full immediately upon completion of the works, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing prior to the start of the project.
5. Payment Terms
- Payment in full is due on completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to commencement.
- The Company reserves the right to request a deposit or staged payments for larger projects, custom orders, or where significant costs are incurred upfront.
- All invoices are due within 7 days of the invoice date unless an alternative period is stated on the invoice or agreed in writing.
- Overdue invoices may attract interest at the statutory rate and may incur reasonable recovery costs or administrative fees as allowed by law.
- The Company retains ownership of all materials and equipment supplied until payment has been received in full.
6. Liability
- The Company shall not be liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of business, revenue, or profits arising from delays, cancellations, or variations to the agreed works.
- Direct liability for defective workmanship or materials is limited strictly to the cost of remedying the defect identified and does not extend to consequential losses or costs incurred by the Client.
- The Company is not liable for any pre-existing faults or issues not directly caused by its actions or omissions.
- The Company shall not be liable for any damage arising from the power flushing process, including but not limited to:
- Pre-existing corrosion or weakness in pipes and radiators
- Damage to components not directly affected by the power flushing process
- Failure of the heating system post-service due to underlying issues unrelated to the power flushing
- The Client must notify the Company of any claim for defects or faults in writing within 14 days of completion of the work. Any remedial work must be performed by or with the written agreement of the Company.
7. Warranty
- GU Services warrants that all services will be performed with reasonable skill, care, and diligence.
- Warranties for parts, appliances, or products installed are subject to the terms and durations provided by the original manufacturers or suppliers, and may be limited or voided by misuse, lack of maintenance, or unauthorised alteration.
- This warranty does not cover defects resulting from normal wear and tear, accidental damage, negligence by the Client, or work performed by third parties without the Company’s consent.
8. Client Responsibilities
- The Client must ensure safe, unobstructed access to the work area and inform the Company of any health and safety hazards present on the premises.
- It is the Client’s responsibility to obtain any necessary permissions, permits, or approvals for the work. The Company will advise if such requirements are apparent but accepts no liability if the Client fails to secure them.
- The Client must ensure that utilities (water, electricity, gas supply) are available as required, and that pets, children, or valuables are kept safely away from the work area.
- In the event of delays or additional costs arising from the Client’s failure to meet their responsibilities, the Company reserves the right to charge for lost time, expenses, or rescheduling.
9. Force Majeure
- The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in carrying out its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Such events include, but are not limited to, acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, pandemic, industrial disputes, or interruptions in the supply of materials or services.
- In such cases, the Company will notify the Client as soon as reasonably possible and may suspend or terminate the contract without further liability.
10. Amendments
- The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will be available on request or at the Company’s registered office or website.
- Clients will be notified of any significant changes that may impact existing agreements.
